What are past students up to now?

I just finished a run of Mamma Mia! where I played Tanya 8 shows a week in front of 400 people minimum. Rachel was the solution I needed to overcome debilitating stage fright, and her intuitive teach truly changed the course of my life. The technique Rachel taught was absolutely essential for getting through 2 hours of song & dance numbers. Before Tanya, I was Dorine in Moliere’s Tartuffe and while there was little singing, Dorine required bold stage presence. In August we’re opening a musical adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith’s She Stoops To Conquer, where I was cast as the lead role of Kate (who does a lot of singing across the genres). I was also cast last week for a musical revue regional tour over the summer. Behind the scenes of these shiny performances are almost daily auditions, voice lessons, training, and grueling rehearsals...all that requires stamina through technique and confidence. And that really did all start with Rachel. I am currently playing in the local cover band scene in Ireland. I play approx. 3-4 shows per week. I sing both acoustically as a one piece and other times with a larger 4 piece band. Our set list covers a range of artists and genres such as rock, pop, blues and traditional Irish. I enjoy singing all styles as each one has it's own challenges. |
